Getting A Good Car Deal In The U.K.

Wow. I thought they were giving us good incentives over here in the U.S.A. – maybe I should move over to the U.K.
If you live there you HAVE to read this article. I had no idea there were some many ways you can get a great deal on a new car. If you’re in the market for a new car this article can litterally save you thousands:
Searching for a mass-produced new car this month? If your chosen dealer, aided and abetted by the manufacturer it represents, isn’t selling vehicles VAT-free, with a 0 per cent loan, a year’s worth of free fuel, gratis or cut-price long-term servicing packages, or large upfront discounts, walk away. Shop elsewhere would be my advice.
Manufacturers should understand that unless many – if not most – of their vehicles come with four-figure discounts or benefits, consumers will not buy them.
Even some more upmarket firms are moving into freebie territory. Alfa Romeo, for example, is offering five years’ (or 50,000 miles) complimentary servicing with 0 per cent APR loans if customers put down a deposit of just 30 per cent.
Not content with that, Fiat’s sister company is also reminding potential customers that its Mito hatchback (priced from £12,250) includes a 1.3 diesel version that’s capable of 78.5mpg on the EU Combined cycle. Of course Alfa can’t say what follows, but I can: the smaller, less glamorous four-seat Fiat 500 is comparatively thirsty alongside the most fuel-efficient Mito, which can also carry five. All this leads me to conclude that on paper, the more grown-up Mito is currently a much wiser investment than the cute little 500.
Elsewhere, Honda is offering a combination of free servicing, roadside assistance and finance for four years on its £11,735 Jazz 1.2S. After putting down 50 per cent deposits customers must make repayments of £122 a month, which sounds reasonable enough to me.
